No Bones About It...!

Hello!  I was supposed to post the card I made for my hubby yesterday.  I am not used to doing posts on Sunday, so I totally forgot.  And then today, well, I almost forgot to do it again!  Good grief!  So, better late than never, here is the card I made ... enjoy!

Yes, CoCo and Red are our dogs.  For Mother's Day, Gary gave me one from the dogs too!  I know, silly, but fun!  Do you like my fingerprint?  I thought it was a fun addition!  The dog stamp I used on the front of the card is in a set with an ice cream cone, but I think I have already made a card like that for Gary before, so I decided to just stamp the dog and then create a little shadowbox full of tiny hearts.  The bone stamps were too large to cut out, so I stamped the back of the heart with them instead.  He liked his card.  I hope you do too!
Recipe:
Paper - Echo Park This & That 6 x 6 pad, Dot Cardstock from Bazzill, Cardstock White, Green
Stamps - Dog from Inky Antics Ice Cream Pup HoneyPop Set, Outside Sentiment and bones from Inky Antics Delightful Dogs #2 set, Inside Sentiment "doggone great day" from Inky Antics Delightful Dogs #1 set, Love You part from Inkadinkado, WE letters from Hero Arts
Ink - Memento Black, Versafine Vintage Sepia
Tools - Spellbinders Classic Circles, Pinking Circles, Classic Hearts, On The Edge (heart border and also where I got the tiny hearts for heart box)
Other -  Pearls from Queen & Co.

I finished a wedding card last night, so I will try to get that post done to show up either tomorrow or the next day.

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back with another share between Debbie and I.  I will show you my card first, then Debbie's and the sketch we both used!  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch
I think we both liked this sketch.  It works for a larger image like Debbie's and it also works for a smaller image, like mine, too!  Pretty versatile!  Like it?

I am in the middle of making a Father's Day card for the hubby so I will see you tomorrow for that.  And hopefully, I will get some other cards made to show you through next week.  One project that I have to do is to work on a set of holiday class cards for a private class I will be teaching in October, but the group wants me to have the samples to them by July 1st.  No, I don't really want to think about Halloween, Fall, and Christmas now, but ... I must.  Of course, there is no way I will have enough paper in my stash for card kits, so I will be re-working them in Sept. with more current papers.  It makes me appreciate that for my regular teaching gig, I don't have to make any samples any more than two to three weeks before!

June Class Share!

Hello!  I finished my class samples ...woo, hoo ...happy dance!  It is always a relief when I get them done!  It is only two weeks to my class, but I figure most of my group of ladies that come are happy with whatever we do, which is awesome.  If you have been keeping up with my classes, you know that the last two months, I have done two classes called Special Occasions, Part One and Part Two.  We made a birthday, a get well, Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation and a wedding card.  I really wasn't planning on doing a part three, but I saw some really cute baby card ideas, so I took suggestions for the other two cards.  Among the ideas were patriotic, retirement, and sympathy.  I ended up doing all but the sympathy.  It got scooted out when I realized that the class participants would be making a baby girl and a baby boy card.  The sympathy card I was planning was going to be very simplistic anyway.  I went with the retirement even though this theme only works for some, but it has a masculine tone and we all can use more cards in our stash for men.  Right?  I always wanted to make what they call a "magic" card and that is what I did for the "man" card.  It was a bit of a challenge to get it to come all together, but I think I can pre-make some steps that will make it easier to understand in the class.  (At least  I hope so!)  So, let me show you my class cards.  First up is a tri-shutter patriotic card ... enjoy!

This is the front.

And this shows it open!
The tri-shutter card looks hard, but is so easy!  I love how it came out!  Next is my "magic" card.  Here is the front.  The image is stamped on acetate with no coloring ...
Front of Magic Card

Voila ... Pull a tab and it is in color ... MAGIC!
Don't look too close at my coloring ... it's terrible, but I was more concerned with making sure I understood how to make the card and then, teach the card!  Last but not least, here are the two shaped Pram cards for both boy and girl!  Enjoy!

Pram Girl

Pram Boy
Pram Inside (Boy's will be blue)
I love how all three came out!  Thanks for letting me share here.  I have quite a number of people that can't come to class, but do like to get a kit from me to do them later.  Always an option.  If you are interested in the actual class details, here that is ...

Special Occasions Part Three - Wed. June 26th 11:00 a.m. and Sat. June 29th at 2:30 p.m. $25
I decided I had to do a part three because no set of special occasion cards are complete without baby cards.  So, you will be making four creative and unique cards including two pram shaped cards, one for a boy and one for a girl.  Next, by special request, you will make a retirement card, but not too worry, this card would be just as good for any men's occasion, like birthday or just for fun.  The best part of this card is learning to make the magic card, which with a pull will reveal a colorful image.  And last but not least, there is a patriotic tri-shutter card, perfect for the 4th of July or an every day card for our troops.  Please bring adhesive to include pop-up dots, 1/8 inch scor-tape (if you can), an X by Xyron (if you have one), detailed scissors, a ruler, a scoring tool, and your preferred coloring medium.  All other supplies provided.  (copic colors I used: card 1: E00, E33, B39, card 2: E00, E33, E31, N1, R27, BG53, BG13, Y17, B95 ...these are listed only for the convenience of those you have asked me to share the colors I used).

I will be back tomorrow with a card I made to send to our granddaughter!

Live Your Life in Color!

Hello!  My card for today was made on Sunday, but since then, I have been deep in creating my class samples!  I am on the down swing now and will have them ready to show you tomorrow.  Today's card was made for a sketch deadline, so I decided I had better sit down and write this post.  Remember, how I used to do Jen del Muro's monthly Sketch For You to Try challenges?  She stopped doing them at the end of last year, but this year, in fact, just about a month ago, she came up with a new challenge for herself.  She now has her very own stamp company called Reverse Confetti and has introduced the world to four new stamp sets, so far.  I think she is having a new release every other month.  And she has brought back the Sketch for You to Try challenges!  I knew I had to get in on that.  I haven't ordered her stamps yet, but my very good friend, Virginia, let me borrow hers so this is what I came up with.  I do want to note, that until the end of the year, she says the sketch challenges can be done using any stamps, not just the ones from Reverse Confetti, but, you see, it gave me a chance to play with her new ones!  Here is what I came up with using this set of stamps here.  Enjoy!

And here is the sketch ...

I wanted to convey how life in color is so much better than black & white!  I found in my stash, this black and white paper and decided I could just color the little flowers in with my copics.  I liked it, but I felt it could use more, so I went with the die cut flowers ... perfect!  What do you think?

Recipe:

Paper - American Crafts Sketchbook line: "Gaby's Gallery", Cardstock White, Black
Stamps - Reverse Confetti Dream in Color
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Tools - Memory Box Prim Poppy, Spellbinders Classic Scallop Squares
Other - Ribbon, Rhinestones

I will see you tomorrow with my class samples.

Happy Stamping!

Saturday's Sketch Share!

Hello!  I am back today with another sketch share!  I will show you my card, Debbie's card and the sketch we both used!  Enjoy!

My Card

Debbie's Card

The Sketch

What do you think of the sketch this week?  Debbie said she had kinda of a hard time with it.  I like it but I quickly found out that the image I was going to use was not going to fit, and so I had to go with plan b.  I like my end result.  So, I am thinking this sketch now should be in to "go-to's".  I will have to use it again soon, and see what I think!

My plan this weekend is to work on my class cards, so hopefully, I will have those to show you early next week.  Of course, I have some new stamps to play with too, but class cards must come first!  Have a great weekend!

Happy Stamping!

You're the Sweetest! (And an craft room organization share)!

Hello!  I have a couple of things to share with you today!  First up, is a card that I made for a friend who was kind enough to make homemade chicken and egg salads for our group that went to the scrapbook convention yesterday.  Eileen is the best cook and the food was fabulous!  Even having to get soaking wet, did not damper our wonderful lunch!  Let me show you my card.  Enjoy!

Pretty darn cute, don't you think?  The cupcake paper was the cutest "food" paper I could find.  Love the sketch I used.  Oh, one more thing about it.  I did the out of the box technique even though I wasn't using a die.  Pretty cool!

Recipe:
Paper - Basic Grey Shine On 6 x 6 pad, Cardstock White, Yellow
Stamps - Inky Antics Berry Sweet HoneyPop
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Tools - Spellbinders Classic Scallop Circle, Classic Circle
Other - Twine by The Twinery, Pearls by Queen & Co.

Now, on to part 2 of this post.  A while back, when I was reorganizing my room, I changed how I store my "bling" ...You know that every card I make, I add some kind of pearls, rhinestones, or bling, somewhere on the card.  I have been asked why.  I guess it is kinda like my signature for a card.  The truth is, a card just doesn't look complete to me until they are added.  Where I put them, is dependent upon where I think the card needs some balance.  So, let me show you how they were stored before ...

They were all mixed up in a basket, and so I spent lots of time looking through this basket trying to find the right color and then trying to find additional ones of the same color.  And a while back, I accidentally didn't get this basket firmly on the shelf, and it FELL and it all went EVERYWHERE!  It was horrible!  It took an hour to get it all back in the basket.  That is when I decided that I need a new system!  So, thanks to Pinterest, I saw an idea where they put their bling in a photo album.  Gary had given me this set of three that were just sitting with nothing in them, and I thought I will put them to good use ... here is the pic ...

In one I put all rhinestones, the second one has all pearls, and the third has more decorative ones.  Here is a pic of an open page ....

There is always a Queen & Co. booth at the scrapbook convention, and I always buy a bunch from them, as their pricing at the show is usually buy 10 for $1 each and get 2 free, which works out to be $.83 each.  Well ... yesterday before we went in, we picked up a scrapbook show book and in it there was a coupon for $.50 on all bling before 11 a.m.   Needless to say, I could NOT turn this down!  I went a little crazy, but I know I will eventually use them all.  I really go through them on class kits because if one card had 3 rhinestones and I make 18 kits ... it does add up.  This morning, I put all the new packages in the books .....

There is a big problem ... the books are way too fat.  So, I went back and took all the bling out of the packaging, which pretty much fixed the problem.  It is still tight, but at least I got them into the box! Last pic ...

Here is my quick review on the scrapbook convention ... they changed the name from the Great American Scrapbook convention to Stitch, Craft, Create, Live because they added an area of sewing, which I can't tell you anything about, because that is not something I am interested in and so I never went to that area.  They did go up on the admission price to $15 which sucked!  Thank goodness, a friend sent me a $3 off coupon.  There were probably a few less vendors than in the past.  But, on a good note, it really wasn't very crowded.  I even saw the people watching Tim Holtz could see him well.  I, of course, spent more than I should have, but love everything I got.  Besides all the bling, I also got some new Spellbinders (why can't I resist these?), new copics (filled in some color combinations), some new cutesy stamps from Darcies (which I am sure you will be seeing very soon), and some other miscellaneous stuff.  I even saw a number of ex-customers who I always enjoy seeing.  All around, a fun day with great friends!

See you tomorrow for the sketch share!
Happy Stamping!
